Something New From Chestnut Tree Records!

Yes we have been busy little bees here at Chestnut Tree creating two new pages that are sure to entertain.
First is CHESTNUT RADIO. It is an original production made for you right here in Bloomington, IN at Chestnut Tree Records featuring interviews, live performances and other cool stuff that you will like. Have a listen and let us know your thoughts about this new endeavor.
And the other new little creation is the CHESTNUT MEDIAPLEX, a place to find your favorite Chestnut artist’s appearances on radio, television and whatever other media mediums that they have been dominating with their talents.

First, The Tillers are having their CD Release Show at The Crow’s Nest in Cincinnati, OH tomorrow evening, March 15, at 10pm. Their debut release “Ludlow Street Rag” will be available for order and download tomorrow as well.
Second, Nathaniel Seer will be performing at the Folk Fight! in Knoxville, TN tomorrow evening, March 15, at 8pm. More information about that very righteous concert series at www.myspace.com/folkfight.
Finally, we here at Chestnut Tree Records have decided to give a little something back to you, our listeners. This weekend we will be posting a new project for your listening pleasure. Its called Chestnut Radio. Yes, we know it isn’t really radio because its on the internet, but it sounds like radio and you are going to love it, especially since it will be free and will give you something to do while pretending that you are working at whatever job has trapped you. Hailing from Cincinnati, OH, The Tillers bring a unique, updated sound to old timey tunes, informed by post-punk and celtic influences. They will release their debut album “Ludlow Street Rag” on March 15th, 2008, and it will of course be available for download or hard copy orders through the Chestnut Tree Online Catalog. This Saturday January 12 The Sparrowses and Nathaniel Seer will be performing at the Them Damn Kids house show in Chicago, IL. Chris Darby of Them Damn Kids is heading west next week on tour. Check out the Chestnut Happenings to the right, and see that you say hello to Chris on his travels around the western half of these united states.
Nathaniel Seer’s new release, “Songs of Hate” will be available in one week on Saturday, December 1. You can here his song ”The Graveyard” from that upcoming release by clicking here.
That evening he will be at a taping of a public television program featuring his performance at Coffee Amici in Findlay, OH.
The Sparrowses will be featured on the “People’s Songs” concert series at Zen and Now Coffeehouse in Cincinnati, OH on November 30.

Things are moving a bit slower than originally planned. We will soon have the online store up and running so that you can purchase your favorite artist’s music. We promise.
On that subject, we will be announcing by the end of next week the release dates for the upcoming Sparrowses album and the next Nathaniel Seer album. Both of these albums as well as the majority of our catalogue will be available to purchase as a downloadable or hard copy.
We will also have some announcements very soon about additions to our roster. Stay tuned.

Yes it is true. We are alive and almost kicking. You can’t buy anything yet. You will be able to do that very soon. End of this week or beginning of the next. Some of the aritist pages are missing information. And there will be more artists added in the near future. If you have found our little home on the old interweb, have a look around. In the coming week we will be adding much and making a few changes. Don’t be confused or discouraged. We will get it right sooner or later.
